On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Youth League of China, at 10:00 am on April 22, 2022, the inauguration ceremony of the theme sculpture “Ideal” on the campus of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, created by the creative team of the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, was held in the central garden of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The square was grandly held, which is also another masterpiece created by the main sculpture team of the Central Academy of Fine Arts after the large-scale sculpture “Faith” in the History Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China. Gao Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, said in his speech that through the creation of the sculpture “Ideal”, three meanings were expressed: the Party wrote the ideal of communism on the banner of the Communist Youth League, and guided generations of Chinese youth to follow the Party with firm belief; The Communist Youth League planted the seeds of ideals in the hearts of young people and inspired generations of Chinese youth to become new forces for the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation; the youth turned lofty ideals into concrete actions every day, making the whole society full of vitality and seeing hope.

Ni Bangwen, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Youth League School, said in his speech that the theme sculpture “Ideal” has injected soul into the human landscape and cultural environment of the entire campus. It is not only a solemn red landmark, but also a silent teaching material that reaches the heart. The edification is a spiritual baptism, which will surely inspire cadres, employees, students and students to build a solid foundation of faith, supplement the calcium of spirit, stabilize the rudder of thinking, and strive to create new achievements that live up to expectations and worthy of the era.

The Central Youth League School commissioned the Central Academy of Fine Arts to create a campus-themed sculpture in early 2021. The school party committee attached great importance to this creative activity and established a creative team led by Professor Zhang Wei, head of the sculpture department. During nearly a year and a half of creation, Party Secretary Gao Hong and Dean Fan Di’an came to the creation site many times to care and guide the creation process. After dozens of drafts and revisions and adjustments, the works embodying the painstaking efforts of many CAFA teachers are unveiled today. The theme sculpture is named after “ideal” and was created by Professor Fan Di’an, president of the Central Academy of Fine Arts and chairman of the China Artists Association. inscription.

The iconic themed sculpture “Ideal” of the Central Youth League School, with a total height of 9 meters, uses the round sculpture and cast bronze figures as the core image expression, with the high flying bright red flag as the background, and the solid and towering granite base as the foundation. The artistic style of symbolism and heroism highlights its spirituality, symbolism, narrative and contemporaneity. The party flag refers to the group flag. The main body of the sculpture is a group portrait of 7 young people with different occupations and identities, closely following the high-flying party flag and the regiment flag, clearly expressing the determination to unswervingly listen to the party and follow the party, fully reflecting the party and the league The educating work chain connected by the team and the team vividly shows the young people in the new era with ideals, high aspirations, great responsibility, hard work, sunshine, self-confidence and vigor. It is an abstract concept and concrete expression, the spirit of the times and aesthetic standards, youthful The works whose temperament and the characteristics of the Youth League School, artistic image and time and space environment are highly compatible, have unique artistic value, profound political meaning and profound spiritual power. The overall sculpture is composed of a balanced, rising, equilateral triangle, tall and straight, with a simple and sharp silhouette, and a magnificent and broad momentum, giving people a strong visual impact and spiritual shock.

After the unveiling ceremony, the leaders and guests went to the newly completed comprehensive report building of the Central Youth League School to visit the special exhibition “History of Chinese Youth Movement”.
